Adjusting Your Goals As You Go

Kim Allen: Adjusting Your Goals As You Go Dr. Seku Gathers

Good People,

This week’s episode of The Truth Prescription brings great conversation and new insights into the future. I speak with Kim Allen, psychic and astrologist. She’s been called the “Human GPS system,” as she helps people figure out where their lives are headed. She’s an old family friend of mine. Let me tell you, from my experience, you really need to listen to this person.

Throughout our talk, Kim shares her story about how she came to work as a psychic and astrologist, including figuring out her own path, adjusting with reality as she goes. She discusses the importance of identifying your dreams and goals but acknowledging the realities that surround those goals. With this, she’s learned what her personal passions are, who she works best with professionally, and the value of differentiating between reality and non-reality.

[03:18] Personal Truth: As a child, Kim was told that she could do anything she wants. As an adult, she’s learned that that is just not the truth. No matter how enthusiastic her mom was about it, it’s just not reality. Kim realized that she had to identify her own personal strengths and passions, find a way to combine them and figure out what’s available in that intersection. Without this direction, many people get lost and expect more doors to be open than there are actually are. For Kim, she realized that many doors were closed to her. She believes that there are doors open for everyone, but you still have to approach those doors with reality—the truth—in mind.

[8:23] Professional Truth: Jodi regularly works with groups of psychics and astrologers. Both of these groups cultivate vastly different cultures: one was very closed off, individualized; the other was very open and provided lively conversations. Through these interactions with these different groups of professionals, Jodi realized that she actually thrives in an open, conversational, “mental” environment. She prefers to work with people who are able to base themselves in reality, defining truths from untruths.
